Farmer's Day 2023: Why is Farmer's Day celebrated only on the birthday of former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh ji?

Farmer Messiah Chaudhary Charan Singh ji's political journey

 In February 1937, he was elected to the Legislative Assembly of the United Provinces from Chhaprauli (Baghpat) constituency at the age of 34. Chaudhary Charan Singh used to say that the condition of farmers would change, then the country will grow and in this direction he continued to work throughout his life. Chaudhary Charan Singh (23 December 1902 - 29 May 1987) He was the farmer politician and fifth Prime Minister of India. He took over the post from 28 July 1979 to 14 January 1980.

 Samman Nidhi Yojana, Chaudhary Charan Singh became the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh twice. However, his tenure did not last long. Despite this, he played a very important role in implementing land reforms while being the Chief Minister and took many big and historical decisions in the interests of the farmer class. It is said that Chaudhary Charan Singh himself prepared a draft of Uttar Pradesh Zamindari and Land Reform Bill.

Every year , 23 December in India is celebrated as Farmer's Day. Because, on this day, India expresses gratitude to the deeds who work tirelessly. He has been an important contribution within India's economy. Various issues like contribution of agricultural scientists, problems of farmers, new experiments in agriculture, new technology, crop method and positive change in farming are discussed in the programs to be organised on the occasion of Farmers' Day. In 1938, he introduced an Agricultural Produce Market Bill in the Assembly which was published in the 31 March 1938 issue of Hindustan Times in Delhi. The purpose of this bill was to protect the interests of farmers against the vision of traders. Chaudhary Charan Singh ji has received the title of Kisan Messiah due to dedication of his life in the interest of farmers. On the day of Farmers Day, efforts made in the interest of Chaudhary Charan Singh ji across the country are remembered.
